Rainbow Towers Hotel Harare is amongst the top hotels in the capital of Zimbabwe. Built 30 years ago, the hotel was initially known as Sheraton Hotel under the reputed international Sheraton franchise before changing name in the last few years to Rainbow Towers under the Rainbow Group a locally run establishment. The hotel is popular with foreign dignitaries on government to government business as well as international NGO executives over and above private business visitors. In the last few years, the hotel has hosted on an annual basis the flagship tourism convention Sanganai/Hlanganani – World Travel and Tourism Africa Fair organized by the Zimbabwe Tourism Authority (ZTA) using its massive 10000 seater convention center know as the Harare International Conference Centre (HICC) as well as the well manicured hotel grounds.
Communication & Entertainment
All rooms have access to Wi Fi internet connection including the lobby. Guests have access to private telephone service in rooms.
In terns of capacity, the hotel has a total of 342 en-suite rooms including a presidential suite. It has a gym and a pool for exclusive use by guests. The Rainbow Group in 2011 embarked on a multimillion dollar (USD) renovation program of the rooms to match international standards. This exercise is in progress as of April 2013.
The hotel also houses a bus station and booking office for a local Luxury inter-city coach called City Link which travels between Harare and Bulawayo as well as Victoria Falls.
In terms of personal and property security, Rainbow Towers Harare is considered secure. There is card access to guest rooms as well as private room safes for valuables. The hotel also has dedicated 24hr security. The hotel is known for its beautiful and spacious lobby.
