The Elephant Hills Resort is the only hotel in Victoria Falls with a golf course – an 18-hole championship gold course. It was designed to be one of the leading resorts in the resort town of Vic Falls. It is found on the Zimbabwean side of the boarder with Zambia. The hotel is some 20 to 30 minutes drive from Victoria Falls International Airport. When coming from the airport to the resort, guests pass through Victoria Falls town center.
Since it was built over a decade ago, other resorts have emerged in Victoria Falls such as the Safari Club. In comparison to the newer resorts, Elephant Hills is in clear need of refurbishing. At the time of writing in May 2013 plans were afoot to “modinise” the hotel. It is because of this need for refurbishment that many guests have noted the same in reviews.
Despite the above mentioned shortfalls, the hotel commands considerable respect among many travelers certainly because of its fantastic location close to the Zambezi River. Rave reviews are likely to increase after the scheduled refurbishment. The hotel is situated some 4kms from the falls. Even from that distance guests can clearly see the mist/spray from the falls from room balconies.
Hotel staff is remarkably professional, friendly and helpful. The staff is often ready to go out of their way to accommodate guest requests. This is the feeling one gets even with shuttle drivers. The entire staff is committed to a high level of service.
The hotel has a shuttle bus that takes guests to the falls a few minutes drive away. There are also available private taxis that can take guests to the falls and other places of attraction.
